Smoltz Plays his Traditional Round with Tiger

John Smoltz has a new team this year. Smoltz now pitches for the Boston Red Sox after spending 20 years with the Atlanta Braves. With baseball’s Spring Training in full swing, Smoltz is down in Florida with his new team. But when he was with the Braves, Smoltz played a round of golf with his longtime friend, Tiger Woods, every year during Spring Training. Even though he’s on a new team, he worked it out so he could keep the tradition going.
Yesterday, Smoltz took a little trip from Kissimmee to Orlando for two reasons. He stopped in to see his former team at their Spring Training facility at Disney World, and to play a round of golf with Tiger at Isleworth Country Club.
It must be nice to be John Smoltz. He gets paid millions to play baseball and has a shot this year at winning the World Series with the Red Sox, and he plays golf with Tiger Woods the day after his ridiculous comeback win at the Arnold Palmer Invitational. Who would want his life? Smoltz said, “I didn’t see his (winning) putt, but I’ll tell him I did.” Wise choice, John. Wise choice.

Did you ever notice that it’s a lot easier for a man to get up at 6:00 a.m. to play golf than at 10:00 to mow the yard?

Yeah he’s got a rough life… and playing with Tiger has got to up your A game. Be nice to have him in the Rolodex if you need a couple of pointers.
